## Regulatory dates (confirm on GOV.UK)

- Phase 1 receiving sites (permit/licence to receive waste): October 2026 England and Wales; January 2027 Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- Phase 2 carriers, brokers, dealers, exemptions: planned mandatory October 2027.
- Typical Phase 1 submission: end of the second working day after receipt.
- Paper WTNs remain lawful for duty of care; they are not a DWTS substitute for sites in Phase 1.
