The waste management app for drivers, on the device they already carry

WEEE Manager is an Android app and offline PWA for waste carriers and WEEE operators. Jobs, walk-round vehicle checks, live GPS, team chat and waste transfer notes — built for the field, not the office desk.

What the app does

Six things drivers can do from the app

The WEEE Manager Android app is for the people doing the work, not the people sitting at a desk. It puts jobs, checks, chat and tracking on the Android phone a driver already has in their pocket, and keeps the data connected to the main portal in real time.

Jobs dashboard

See every job in three columns: active, assigned and collected. Each job card shows the customer name, address and waste type at a glance. Status updates in real time as the office dispatches or reassigns jobs during the shift.

Job detail and navigation

Open a job for the full picture: waste items, EWC codes, quantities, customer contact number and collection address. One tap opens Google Maps (or the device default) with the address pre-loaded. Drivers do not need to write anything down.

21-point walk-round check

A structured pre-trip and post-trip inspection form covering 21 vehicle check points. Each check is logged per shift against the driver and vehicle. Covers fluids (oil, coolant, washer), tyres, lights, horn, brakes, wipers, mirrors, seatbelts, body damage and mileage.

Team chat

Built-in group messaging between drivers and office staff. Online presence indicators show who is available. Messages appear in the portal for office users and in the app for drivers. No need for a separate WhatsApp group or personal phone numbers.

Quick refuel logging

Log a refuel in seconds: select the vehicle, enter the litres and mileage, confirm. The record syncs to the portal immediately. Fleet managers get a complete fuel and mileage history per vehicle without paper fuel cards or separate spreadsheets.

Waste items and EWC codes

Each job carries the waste items, EWC codes and quantities that feed through into Waste Transfer Notes and WEEE transfer notes in the portal. Drivers capture the data at the point of collection; the office produces the completed note from the record without asking the driver to call in.

Job management

The office dispatches. Drivers see it instantly.

When an office user creates or assigns a job in WEEE Manager, it appears in the driver's app immediately. No phone call, no text message, no printout. The driver opens the job, sees what they are collecting and where, and starts navigation with one tap.

Jobs have a clear status: active (on the road), assigned (waiting for the driver) and collected (completed). The office portal shows the same view in real time, so the operations team always know where each job is in the day's schedule.

  • Customer name, address, phone number and waste items on a single job card
  • EWC codes and quantities included so the transfer note can be generated from the same record
  • One-tap navigation opens the address in Google Maps or the device default
  • Mark complete on the device; status updates in the portal in real time

Vehicle inspections

21-point walk-round checks, logged per shift

The app includes a structured pre-trip vehicle inspection form. A driver completes their walk-round at the start of a shift and the result is logged digitally — no paper check sheet to file or lose, and no guessing whether yesterday's check was done.

Fleet managers see a full inspection history per vehicle in the portal. Each completed check records the driver, the vehicle, the date and the result of all 21 points.

Admin feature

Live GPS driver tracking — no extra hardware

When a driver is logged in to the Android app, their location is shared with the WEEE Manager admin portal. Office staff and managers see every active driver on a live map. Filter by driver, watch jobs progress in real time, and know exactly where your vehicles are without phoning the cab.

A 14-day movement history is retained for every driver. Select any person and any past date to replay the route they took that day — useful for customer queries, proof of attendance and route reviews. All of this runs on the Android device the driver already has; there are no tracker boxes to buy, fit or pay a subscription for.

  • Real-time map of all driver positions in the admin portal
  • 14-day history — replay any driver's route by selecting a date
  • No extra hardware — powered entirely by the Android app
  • Driver positions linked to live job status — know when a job is complete

GPS vs separate fleet tracker

Most fleet tracking systems charge a monthly SIM or subscription fee per vehicle on top of hardware. WEEE Manager uses the driver's Android app — there is nothing to fit and no additional hardware cost.

Separate fleet tracker

  • Hardware purchase or lease per vehicle
  • Monthly SIM or subscription per vehicle
  • Data in a separate system from your waste records

WEEE Manager GPS

  • No hardware — uses the Android app
  • Included on all hosted plans
  • GPS, jobs, checks and notes in one system

Works offline

Android app plus an offline PWA for the browser

The Android app is for drivers on the move. The PWA (Progressive Web App) is for anyone at a desk or on a site with a browser — it works offline and syncs when connectivity returns.

Many waste sites have poor signal in the yard, on the weighbridge or inside a building. The PWA continues to work: staff can log incoming waste records, update jobs and add notes without an active internet connection. The data queues and syncs automatically when the device reconnects.

App questions

Android download, what it does, walk-round checks, GPS and offline use.

Is WEEE Manager available as an Android app? +

Yes. The WEEE Manager Android app is built with Flutter and downloaded from within your WEEE Manager portal — not from the Play Store. Once you log in to the portal you will see the APK download link. It installs directly on any Android device.

What does the app do? +

The app is built for drivers and field operatives. It shows a My Jobs dashboard with active, assigned and collected jobs. Drivers open a job to see the full details: waste items, EWC codes, quantities, client contact and one-tap navigation. They can complete a 21-point walk-round vehicle check, log a refuel, and chat to the rest of the team. Live GPS sends their location to the admin map in the portal.

What is the 21-point walk-round check? +

The app includes a structured vehicle inspection form covering 21 points: engine oil, coolant, windscreen washer fluid, fuel, tyres (tread and pressure), lights, horn, wipers, mirrors, brakes, seatbelts, body damage and mileage. Each check is logged digitally per shift against the driver and vehicle, giving fleet managers a complete inspection history.

How does the live GPS work? +

When a driver is logged in to the Android app, their device location is shared with the WEEE Manager admin portal. Admins see a live map of every active driver. A 14-day movement history is retained — select any driver and any past date to replay exactly where they travelled. No extra tracker hardware is required; it runs on the Android app.

Does it work offline? +

Yes. WEEE Manager is a Progressive Web App (PWA) as well as an Android app. The PWA works offline in the browser — staff can continue logging jobs and waste records on site without a signal and the data syncs when connectivity returns. The Android app also handles poor signal gracefully.

Where do I download it? +

Log in to your WEEE Manager portal and look for the Android app download link. You will receive the APK file to install on your Android device. You do not need to go through the Play Store.

Is the app included in all hosted plans? +

Yes. The Android app and offline PWA are included on every hosted plan at no extra charge. Price is based on team headcount, not feature access — every user on your plan gets the app.

Does the app handle WEEE and waste transfer notes? +

Jobs in the app include waste item details, EWC codes and quantities — the same information that feeds into Waste Transfer Notes and WEEE transfer notes in the portal. Drivers capture the data in the field; the office can generate the completed note from the record.
