Electrical waste, still waste

What WEEE management software has to cover

Electrical waste is still waste. You still need a transfer note, an accurate EWC code, a registered carrier and a site that is allowed to take it. On top of that, ITAD customers want a destruction certificate that names the drive, and producer compliance schemes want evidence that WEEE was treated, not dumped.

WEEE Manager generates WEEE transfer notes alongside general waste transfer notes, issues secure data destruction certificates, and — if you hold a permit to receive waste — keeps inbound fields ready for digital waste tracking.

It is not a producer compliance scheme membership. It is not a substitute for AATF / ATF status. It is the system Southern Electrical Recycling used, sold as hosted software by WEEE Manager Ltd (company number 16732434).

Collection still uses jobs, the driver app and GPS. The paperwork fork is the note type, the codes, and whether destruction evidence is required.

Waste management software pricing

Price follows team size. Features do not. Unlimited waste notes, cloud hosting, daily backups, support and DEFRA DWT-ready records on every plan. No setup fee.

DEFRA also charges £26 a year per legal entity that creates or edits Digital Waste Tracking Service records once the service is mandatory. That fee is the government’s, not ours. Full table on waste management software pricing.

Common questions

WEEE notes versus general WTNs, ITAD certificates, and Phase 1 for treatment facilities.

What is WEEE management software? +

It is software for operators who collect, treat or broker waste electrical and electronic equipment. That means WEEE transfer notes, EWC codes for electrical streams, treatment or transfer records, and — for ITAD — secure data destruction certificates with an audit trail. WEEE Manager started in that world and now also covers general waste and DWTS.

Is WEEE Manager only for WEEE sites? +

No. The name reflects where it started. Today it is used by general waste carriers, permitted receiving sites and mixed operations as well as WEEE treatment and ITAD.

What EWC codes apply to WEEE? +

Household-type WEEE often uses 20 01 36 (non-hazardous) or 20 01 35* (hazardous). B2B equipment collected under the WEEE Regulations 2013 is typically Chapter 16 (16 02 14 / 16 02 13*). Always check your permit. See the EWC guide on the blog.

Do you produce data destruction certificates? +

Yes. Secure data destruction certificates for hard drives, SSDs and electronic media, with device tracking for GDPR-style evidence. That sits alongside WEEE transfer notes, not instead of them.

How does DWTS apply to WEEE treatment? +

A permitted WEEE treatment facility that receives waste is in Phase 1 like any other receiving site. Inbound loads need digital records from October 2026 in England and Wales. The WEEE note and the DWTS record should share the same structured data.
